Why 8.5 ?

Why should you choose this apartment?

In a word… this apartment is different .

Unlike the other rather generic offerings in newer areas, this apartment has true Porteno style. You won’t feel like a tourist surrounded by the same shops you have at home…but like a local exploring the authentic culture of this great city. This apartment was never designed to become a rental so no detail was spared in the renovation.

What is the history of 8.5?

This wonderful apartment has a remarkable history.

It was owned by several generations of one family until purchased by an English woman in 2005. At that time it was a bright apartment but needed lots of remodeling to bring it up to western standards of living. Luckily the woman who purchased it was a professional interior designer by trade. Over the next two years, she painstakingly renovated it to the modern classical style while retaining the original charm. You can see that in the photos of the original polished hardwoods, modern kitchen and bathroom and custom stained glass throughout.

Meanwhile, I was looking for that one special place. I saw dozens but none of them were impressive. The apartments were either very old and outdated or brand new but lacking any style. After nearly giving up the search, this San Telmo apartment was discovered and then everyone went to a favorite bar to celebrate. The beer we had that day had a unique alcohol content – 8.5% and we liked the name. And that is the story of how this apartment came to be called Ocho Punto Cinco.

Where is 8.5 located?

This property located in the center of the historical neighborhood of San Telmo. The famous cobblestoned district with antiques fairs, art galleries, tango academies, dance rooms, theatres, bars, restaurants and shopping. Close to the City’s financial district as well as the Ecological Reserve and Costanera Sur sites, also close to Florida Street, the shopping hub of the City of Buenos Aires. Enjoy the famous flea market at Plaza Dorrego on Sundays where the streets of the neighborhood transform themselves into grounds for the many arts and crafts stands available for the public’s shopping pleasure.

What else is nearby the apartment?
